New Look Museum Wins National Award

Sunderland Museum and Winter Gardens has been presented with a National Interpret Britain Award, following an extensive refurbishment with the aid of audio visual specialists Integrated Circles.

The Museum and Winter Gardens is one of only ten national winners to be presented with one of the prestigious awards from the Association for Heritage Interpretation, rewarding excellence in making historical and cultural attractions understandable and accessible to all.

During a two-year closure, a £13 million refurbishment was carried out, including the installation of eight new galleries with hands-on exhibits, computer interactives and video presentations, all designed and implemented by Integrated Circles.

The company’s own VideoStores and SoundStores, producing high quality audio visuals, alongside innovative sound and lighting effects, video monitors and large screen displays, allow visitors to discover more about the social and natural history of Sunderland and the surrounding area.
