Integrated Circles Introduces VideoStore 2 with Integral Audio Amplifier and Show Control System Packaged solution for high-quality, repeat playback of MPEG2 video
Audio visual systems specialists, Integrated Circles has introduced their new-generation MPEG VideoStore system, which enables repeat playback of high-quality MPEG2 video sequences in museums, visitor centres, exhibitions and in-store displays.
The new VideoStore 2 is a rack-mounting, hard disk-based video player which stores up to one hour of near broadcast-quality MPEG 2 video for video monitors or large projection systems. VideoStore’s on-board control system enables video programs to be looped seamlessly for constant repeat performances. Alternatively, several video segments can be stored and accessed independently. The unit also features an integral 15-watt stereo power amplifier, professional quality video and audio connectors, and a key locking door over the control panel for security.
Because VideoStore 2 uses re-recordable media for storage, additional footage or changes to shows can be made easily without incurring costs of pressing new discs. Integrated Circles claim that the excellent image possible with its video player results from its significant investments in compression technology. The company also says that VideoStore responds immediately to controller inputs, unlike DVD-based systems which can take several seconds to locate and display new images on-screen -- making for smoother presentations.
Simon Beer, technical director of Integrated Circles commented: “As VideoStore has built-in audio and show control functions, it provides a packaged solution for video playback in museums, visitor centres, simulators, rides or in-store displays and kiosks. It is the obvious successor to the now-obsolete laserdisc technology, as VideoStore gives stable and reliable video media with excellent picture quality and the ability to have multiple passage selection or looped playback.”
“VideoStore can be used as a stand-alone unit, or interfaced with lighting dimmers and special effects. Unlike other digital video players, the image quality from our VideoStore is good enough for projection on to a large screen”, added Beer.
